The 6th Edition LISBON LAB Hands-On Endoscopic Lumbar and Cervical Spine Surgery Course
The 6th Edition LISBON LAB Hands-On Endoscopic Lumbar and Cervical Spine Surgery Course, the biggest event in Portugal dedicated to Uniportal and Biportal Endoscopic Spine Surgery, was organized on 31st May to 1st June 2024 in the beautiful city of Lisbon. The event gathered more than 60 renowned surgeons from Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, France and Germany. It included two intense days of sharing knowledge and expertise with three ESPINEA® world-renowed faculty, Dr. Ralf Wagner, Dr. Maxime Challali and Dr. Miguel Loureiro.
In addition to the excellent course with 6 workstations, where the focus was on the new joimax® system for Biportal endoscopy and Tessys® TransSAP system, the participating surgeons had the opportunity to share and discuss cases, improvements as well as difficulties.
We would like to express our sincere gratitute to our faculty Dr. Ralf Wagner, Dr. Maxime Challali and Dr. Miguel Loureiro for their participation and for sharing their expertise with other participants. ESPINEA® Endoscopic Spine Academy’s four-day workshop in Guangzhou, China
The four-day workshop of ESPINEA® Endoscopic Spine Academy in Guangzhou at the end of May, which was powered by joimax®, was outstanding.
On the first day, the workshop featured the observation of several live surgeries, which were attended by more than 50 participants on site and over 80,000 online participants. On the second day, multiple presentations with discussions were provided. On the third and fourth half days, 20 surgeons from different provinces were trained by Prof. Zhou Yue at the cadaveric training. Interlaminar and transforaminal lumbar techniques were demonstrated and discussed throughout the workshop.
Our heartfelt gratitude extends to our esteemed ESPINEA® Chairman, Chapter China – Prof. Zhou Yue and faculty from Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. Their gracious sharing of knowledge, experience and best practices has left an enduring impact. joimax® at Houston Methodist
The 4th Annual Houston Methodist Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Symposium was organized from April 5 to 6, 2024. The symposium fostered a wealth of knowledge sharing and collaboration to advance Ultra-Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Spine Surgery field and improve patient outcomes. More than 50 participants including practicing spinal surgeons, residents, and fellows gathered at Houston Methodist and learned from leading experienced endoscopic spine faculty. The symposium included both lectures and hands-on cadaveric lab instructions for lumbar, thoracic, and cervical endoscopic decompression as well as endoscopic fusion.
Special thanks to Meng Huang, MD, Paul J. Holman, MD and Houston Methodist for organizing such an excellent course.
EVENT & CONGRESS HIGHLIGHTS
AANS Annual Scientific Meeting 2024
The 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) was organized from May 3 to 6 in Chicago, USA. The AANS gathers the greatest minds in the American neurosurgical community to advance collective wisdom in this modern world. The year’s theme was „What Matters“.
At joimax® booth, our US team showcased cutting-edge technologies, systems and methods for ultra-minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery. It was very impressive to see such a great interest in joimax® surgical solutions. Many thanks to everyone for visiting our booth. JSSR
The 53rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Spine Surgery and Related Research (JSSR) took place from April 18 to 20 at PACIFICO Yokahama Conference Center in Kanagawa, Japan. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the JSSR. The 53rd Annual Meeting was therefore a very special event celebrating 50 years of research into spinal ailments and also laying a foundation for the next era.
At the event, the joimax® APAC team led by Reuben Teo and Cindy Lee in collaboration with our Japanese distributor JMC- JAPAN MEDICALNEXT CO., LTD., demonstrated the breakthrough in endoscopic spine surgery with a focus on the Electromagnetic Navigation System – Intracs®em. Over 2500 surgeons from Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia participated in the meeting, and the surgeons were very impressed by the wide clinical application of joimax®’s endoscopic spine navigation system.

joimax® Germany had an active month in April 2024. We supported among others the 14th Schwarzach Spring Symposium, the Network Days in Nuremberg and the Spine in Hamburg event, and presented our latest product innovations in the field of endoscopic spinal surgery. iLESSYS® Biportal was of particular focus here, which significantly extends the interlaminar application range of endoscopy to endoscopic fusion.
